Privacy Policy
Last updated: April 7th, 2025
This website (“Site”) is hosted on WordPress and includes built-in features such as comments and media uploads. Additionally, we use basic website analytics provided by our hosting provider, Hostinger, to understand general usage patterns. This policy explains what data we collect, how it’s used, and your rights regarding that data.
Who we are
Our website address is: https://prawnhub.org.
Information We Collect
We do not ask you to sign up or submit personal information unless you choose to interact with the site (e.g., leaving comments). However, some data is automatically collected:
- Your IP address
- Browser type and version
- Device type and operating system
- Pages visited and time spent on the site
- Referring website (if any)
This information is collected by Hostinger’s analytics system to help us understand general traffic and improve the site.
Comments
When visitors leave comments on the site, we collect the data shown in the comments form, as well as the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help with spam detection.
An anonymized string (a hash) created from your email address may be sent to the Gravatar service to check if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. Once your comment is approved, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.
Media
If you upload images to the website, please avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS). Visitors to the website may be able to download and extract this data.
Cookies
If you leave a comment, you may opt-in to saving your name, email address, and website in cookies. This is for your convenience so you don’t have to re-enter your details when leaving another comment. These cookies last for one year.
If you visit our login page, we set a temporary cookie to check if your browser accepts cookies. It contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.
When you log in, we set several cookies to save your login info and screen display choices. Login cookies last two days, or two weeks if you select “Remember Me”. If you log out, those cookies are removed.
If you edit or publish an article, an additional cookie will be saved in your browser. It contains no personal data and expires after one day.
Embedded content from other websites
Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g., videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content behaves the same as if you had visited that website directly. These sites may collect data about you, use cookies, and track your interaction with the embedded content — especially if you have an account and are logged into that site.
Analytics
This site uses analytics provided by Hostinger, which may automatically collect anonymized data such as IP addresses, browser types, and time spent on the site. This data is used strictly to monitor traffic and improve the site. We do not share or sell this information.
Who we share your data with
If you request a password reset, your IP address will be included in the reset email.
We do not share personal data with any third parties other than our hosting provider (Hostinger), and only for site functionality.
How long we retain your data
If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely to recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically.
For users that register (if available), we store the personal information in their profile. Users can view, edit, or delete their personal information (except usernames). Site administrators can also see and edit that information.
What rights you have over your data
If you have an account on this site or have left comments, you can request an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you’ve provided. You can also request that we erase your personal data, excluding data we’re required to keep for legal, administrative, or security reasons.
Where your data is sent
Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service.
